Love in every
bite.
Two packs. One mill. Surya is the rice that shows up on lakhs of plates across seven states — grown in the Telangana rice bowl and milled where the paddy is grown.

Pick your side of the country.
Our two best-sellers move in almost equal volume — they just live in different kitchens.
Surya Pink

The everyday cooker rice. Cooks fluffy and separate, never gluey — the grain that holds up in pulao, jeera rice and a plain dal-chawal night.
Surya Black

Boiled rice for kitchens where rice is the meal, not the side. Soft, light and easy to digest — the one that goes with sambar, rasam and curd rice.
The same rice, four ways.
Water ratios and timings that actually work for Surya — from a pressure cooker in Nagpur to a rice cooker in a hostel room.
Pressure cooker
The everyday north-Indian default. Works for both packs; black needs one extra whistle.
Two changes of water is enough to clear loose starch. Over-rinsing washes off the surface layer that gives Surya its aroma.
Cuts cooking time and helps every grain swell evenly rather than splitting at the ends.
Add 1¾ cups water per cup of rice. Switch off at the third whistle — the residual pressure finishes the job.
Five minutes with the lid on. Fluff with a fork, never a spoon, so the grains stay whole.
Timings are for one full whistle-free cycle on a medium flame. Adjust by a minute either way for your stove.
Eight colours. Every kitchen has a favourite.
The colour on the bag tells your kirana shop which grain and mill run it came from. Pink and black lead; the rest have loyal pockets of their own.
The flagship. Our highest-volume pack, strongest across the northern markets.
Equal in volume to pink. The boiled-rice pack that moves through the south.
A steam-milled JSR for buyers who want the same grain without the boil.
A second steam line kept for dealers who run two grades side by side.
A regional favourite with a loyal pocket of kirana shops behind it.
Distinct on a crowded shelf, and easy for a repeat customer to point at.
Runs in specific dealer territories where blue is the known Surya bag.
The top of the range — the cleanest mill run of the season.

You can point at the mill on a map.
Surya is milled at our own plant on Vijayawada Road, Yadgarpally — not job-worked out, not blended from three traders. Paddy comes in from farmers in the surrounding mandals, gets dried, milled, graded and colour-sorted on the same premises, and leaves as a bag with a lot number on it.
